#44 Daido Moriyama, Expats and a bit of AOB
Morning! Be careful, it’s cold out there.
Last week I made it to the Photographer’s Gallery to see Daido Moriyama. Moriyama is a Japanese street photographer who uses blurry and grainy photographs to give a rawness to his photographs. Some of the photos were so blurry (to the point of looking like 90% of my camera roll) that I was staring at them for a couple of minutes and wondering what was going on. It was a slow burn, but I think that’s probably a good sign…
With thanks to Al for spotting Expats was on at the Soho Theatre, we saw a couple of US comedians doing mid-form improv over a vanishingly short 90 minute set. It was funny and short (sound familiar?). The cast included Matt Walsh (aka Mike from Veep)…
And Tim Meadows who made his name in Saturday Night Live. Here’s his cameo in The Office US.
AOB
Loved the facial expressions in this game of Blindman’s bluff.
Petrol (or gas) stations prices make perfect radio station ads.
And finally, yesterday was 35 years since A bit of Fry and Laurie aired its first series. Here’s Hugh Laurie throwing himself around for a couple of minutes.
Have a great week x
